Highland 4x4 Response Group is manned
by a voluntary group of 4x4 owners offering their time, vehicles and
expertise to Statutory and other voluntary agencies in emergency
situations and times of crisis. View our
Constitution.
Highland 4x4 Response Group covers the Highlands of Scotland. We are a
member on the
National 4x4 Response Network.
We respond only to calls from
Statutory and other voluntary agencies where we have an agreement in
place. We do not respond to calls from members of the public -
members of the public are requested to dial 999 and ask for the
appropriate service whenever there is any danger to life and/or
property.
Statutory and voluntary agencies interested in utilising our services
should contact a Team Controller via the contact
page.
-
the groups objectives
-
To establish a team of
volunteer owners of 4x4 vehicles that can be called upon to
provide support throughout the Highlands of Scotland.
-
To provide training of
members to ensure they are sufficiently competent to provide
support when required.
-
To maintain contact with
potential user services to ensure that they are aware of the
existence of the group.
-
To organise training and
team building activities to improve the groups capabilities and
improve teamwork.
-
To maintain an awareness
of contingency planning activities in the Highlands and become
involved in cross service exercises.
With the risk of flooding and extreme weather in
the Highlands and where uneven terrain is involved, the
emergency and voluntary services often find themselves without the
correct resources. Highland 4x4 Response Group provides valuable
support in these circumstances. 24/7/365. |
